New Salary Information

Effective July 1, 2023, The Lexington County Council voted for all positions at Join LCSD to receive a pay increase of 7%. This pay increase allows our establishment to attract, retain and develop talented people here at the Sheriff’s Department who work so hard on behalf of our community.

Detention and Law Enforcement Deputies – already certified applicants

Starting Salary: $48,811 - $53,977
Applies to South Carolina Certified Officer working less than three years. Salary reflects working our
standard shifts of 86 hours bi-weekly.

Three Years of Service Salary: $50,220
Applies to South Carolina Certified Officer working less than three years. Salary reflects working our
standard shifts of 86 hours bi-weekly.

Six Years of Service Salary: $53,977
Applies to South Carolina Certified Officer working less than three years. Salary reflects working our
standard shifts of 86 hours bi-weekly.

Detention and Law Enforcement Deputies – uncertified applicants

Starting Salary: $46,933
Applies to the brand-new detention or law enforcement applicant. Salary reflects working our standard shifts of 86 hours bi-weekly.

A group of LCSD deputies stopped by a local apartment complex to serve the community up with some tasty treats and build new relationships. It made for a great after school surprise for the youngest members!

Sheriff Koon and other LCSD deputies joined together to run in support of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and to help spread the message of acceptance and inclusion.
