Front Desk Specialist (Night Shift)

About the Role:
As a Front Desk Specialist, you will be the first point of contact at the Sheriff’s Department’s Headquarters. Your primary responsibility is to deliver accurate information and assistance to both the public and internal staff. This includes greeting visitors, answering inquiries, and ensuring that everyone you assist feels welcomed and supported.
Schedule:
This position follows a two-week rotating night shift schedule, for example:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Provide clear and helpful information about local services, businesses, and agencies.
- Process, research, and input data into various law enforcement databases with precision and efficiency.
- Assist the public in person and over the phone, resolving inquiries and providing guidance.
- Act as a resource for quality-of-life issues and community services.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
Knowledge & Skills:
- Familiarity with Lexington County and local resources.
- Strong decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate various databases.
- Excellent multitasking and communication abilities.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (no prior experience required).
Certifications:
- Must complete a 40-hour NCIC Certification (training provided).
- A valid South Carolina Driver’s License is required.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Tasks may involve extended periods of sitting with occasional arm and/or leg movement. The role is classified as Light Work.
- Physical activities may include fingering, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
